AI & Risk Scoring Limitations

The health score is a heuristic, not a credit rating
FirmVerdict's 0–100 financial health score is an explainable heuristic built from filed accounts data. It has not been calibrated against default outcomes, is not validated as a predictor of insolvency, and must not be represented as a regulated credit rating. FirmVerdict is not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority and is not a credit reference agency.
What the score can and cannot tell you
- It summarises patterns in historical filings — profitability, solvency and filing behaviour.
- It cannot see management quality, order books, banking relationships, group support, fraud, or events after the last filing date.
- Filed accounts can be 18 months or more old by the time you read them. A strong score does not guarantee payment; a weak score does not prove distress.
AI-generated commentary
- AI commentary (such as credit verdict briefings) interprets figures already extracted and displayed — it never invents financial values.
- AI output can be wrong, incomplete or inapplicable to your situation. It is separated visually from verified source facts and is cached against a fingerprint of the underlying figures.
- AI-assisted PDF extraction is labelled with a confidence level; low-confidence results are withheld.
