Company Check
Check any UK company against its official filings
FirmVerdict turns Companies House accounts into clear financial indicators — turnover, operating profit, margins and solvency — each one linked back to the filing it came from.
What a FirmVerdict company check shows
- Turnover, operating profit (EBIT), calculated EBITDA and profit before tax across filing periods
- Margin trends — is profitability improving or eroding?
- Balance-sheet solvency indicators, including for micro-entity and filleted accounts
- Employee numbers and per-employee productivity where disclosed
- Filing history and late-filing patterns from the public register
- Red flags with the exact figures and source filings behind each one
Evidence you can verify, not a black box
Every figure on FirmVerdict carries its source document, filing date, extraction method and a confidence label. Machine-readable iXBRL accounts are extracted directly from tagged data; PDF-only accounts are parsed with text extraction and clearly labelled. Low-confidence figures are withheld rather than guessed.
You can open the original filing at Companies House from any figure and check it yourself.
What a company check is not
FirmVerdict is not a credit reference agency and does not provide a regulated credit rating. Our health score is an explainable heuristic built on filed accounts — it supports your judgement, it does not replace it, and it is not a guarantee of payment or solvency.
Who uses it
Specialist contractors checking a main contractor before committing labour, procurement teams screening suppliers, and accountants monitoring customer solvency — anyone who needs filed evidence rather than a bare score.
